Inspect The Existing Roof
We review the material, surface condition, seams, flashing and drainage. Reports of leaks and earlier repairs help focus the assessment. Where moisture or concealed damage is suspected, additional investigation may be needed before deciding whether the roof can support restoration.
Choose Repair, Restoration Or Replacement
A limited defect may need a local repair. Wider surface wear on a sound roof may suit restoration. Materials that cannot remain serviceable need repair, removal or replacement. The extent of damage guides that decision; moisture in one area does not automatically require a full tear-off.
Complete The Necessary Repairs
Loose components, damaged flashing and failed seams need attention before coating. Unsuitable underlying materials must be addressed as well. On a roof with different surfaces or levels, the connections between them are included in the assessment and repaired using methods appropriate for the existing assembly.
Prepare A Compatible Surface
Preparation can involve cleaning, removing loose finish and correcting earlier patches. The selected system may require primer or adhesion checks. These steps establish a suitable base for the coating rather than leaving contamination or unstable material between the old roof and the new finish.
Plan Access And Protection
We consider roof access, entrances, air intakes, nearby vehicles and planned equipment work. Protection or temporary restrictions may be needed during cleaning and application. Tell us about occupied areas and deliveries so those requirements can be considered alongside the roofing sequence.
Apply The Coating System
The coating and detail treatment follow the product's specified coverage, thickness and application conditions. Drying or curing requirements affect when another layer can be applied and when access can resume. Weather or surface conditions may require an adjustment to the schedule.
Review The Finished Roof
The completed surface and treated details are reviewed as part of finishing the work. We explain the relevant maintenance and access requirements for the installed system. New openings or equipment alterations need compatible connections to the restored roof, so planned changes should be considered before application.
Maintain The Restored Surface
Drainage outlets, flashing, seams and equipment areas remain important after coating. Arrange appropriate inspection and care, and have new damage or leaks assessed. A future recoat may be possible if the roof stays suitable. Its condition at that time determines whether renewal is appropriate.
